Prime
Minister Narendra Modi government has started the Digital India Project on 2
July 2015. After initiating this campaign lot of changes have occurred in the
life of a citizen of India. People have seen digitalization in the system and
also feel the technology in their life. According to this perspective, we can

Indore, January 28, 2018: The much awaited eleventh edition of the Mahindra
BAJA SAEINDIA 2018 at Pithampur finally came to an end yesterday, leaving
behind many exhilarating moments. A total of 46 out of 86  mBAJA teams and 7 out of 25 eBAJA teams
competed the endurance round comprising both mBAJA and eBAJA.
Smt. Kashibai Navale College of Engineering from
Pune was declared the ‘Best eBAJA Team’ and D.Y. Patil College of Engineering
from Pune was declared the ‘Best mBAJA Team’
. The endurance event was flagged off by Mr. Babul Supriyo, an Indian
playback singer, actor and politician and Minister of State for Heavy
Industries and Public Enterprises along with Dr. Pawan Goenka, Managing
Director, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.

This was
the fourth edition of eBAJA which aims to provide a platform to leverage the
onset of Electric Mobility in India. The event saw participation from 160
colleges at Pithampur.
About 388
teams had registered in the 11th year of BAJA SAEINDIA series, out of which 221
(161 for Pithampur and 60 for Ropar) teams qualified for the finale. However,
only 112 (87 teams for mBAJA and 25 for eBAJA) made it to the Endurance round.
This year was remarkable with 4000 students from different parts of the country
celebrating the BAJA SAEINDIA 2018 theme ‘Ground
to Glory’.

appreciation for an event such as BAJA, Dr.
Pawan Goenka, Managing Director, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said,

classrooms and therefore it is desirable that such competitions are encouraged.
BAJA provides students a pragmatic exposure to real-world challenges as faced

bringing BAJA to India around 11-years ago. The success and enthusiasm shown by
students towards BAJA year after year shows that our role might have spurred
many innovations that will benefit society over the long term.”

SAEINDIA all these years so that engineering students can innovate and come up
with practical solutions for various issues facing the industry and
society.”  

Various
other awards to the teams for static events were presented. Marathwada Mitra
Mandal’s College Of Engineering from Pune and Smt. Kashibai Navale College of
Engineering, Pune (mBAJA) and bagged the Engineering Design award whereas Dr
D.Y Patil Institute of Technology, Pimpri (Pune) won the Go Green- Emissions
Award.
In
addition to total prize amount of Rs. 22,
40,000/-
for BAJA SAEINDIA 2018 Pithampur, the students walked away with
excitement and a sense of accomplishment for having participated in such a
competitive event.

The
four-day event started with basic Static Evaluation round which comprised of
design evaluation, cost evaluation and marketing presentation. In the final
round, the teams showcased their prototype of a rugged single seat, off-road
recreational four-wheel vehicle and were evaluated on various parameters,
including engineering design, CAE, cost and technology innovation.
The
objective of the competition was to simulate real world engineering design
projects and their related challenges. Each team’s goal was to create a safe,
easily transported, easily maintained and fun to drive prototype without any
direct involvement from professional fabricators.
However,
the teams were free to design their own transmissions with the only restriction
being the speed limit to 60kmph. The Dynamic Evaluation Round tested the
vehicles for acceleration, sled pull, maneuverability and Suspension &
Traction. Durability Evaluation Round saw the vehicles undergo endurance tests
of one hour for eBAJA and four hours of mBAJA. The Endurance Event assessed
each vehicle’s ability to operate continuously and at a speed over rough
terrain containing obstacles in any weather conditions.
The 2nd
part of 11th edition of BAJA SAEINDIA 2018 is scheduled at IIT Ropar, Punjab
from 8th to 11th March 2018.

BAJA
SAEINDIA is an educational pursuit for the engineering college students, an
out-of-classroom-education system, where engineering students from all over
India can participate as a team, giving them pragmatic exposure to real world
challenges as faced in the industry. Originally started in the USA by the SAE
International as Mini BAJA SAE, today it is being organized in several
countries. In India, it is being organized as BAJA SAEINDIA. An international
student level competition in which teams from universities all over the
country, design, analyze, fabricate and validate an all-terrain vehicle. This

About eBAJA

eBAJA is
an event initiated by SC and OC of BAJA SAEINDIA which engages more than 1000
engineering students every year. To leverage the onset of electric mobility in
India we had started this event under the convenorship of Mr. Subodh Morye in

an electric vehicle on the same dynamics of BAJA rulebook and experience the
wonder that this vehicle does with electric power. During a session with, His
Excellency Late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, former president of India, he suggested

about petrol driven ATVs, eBAJA vehicles will run on electric motor powered by

eBAJA is
the concept of electric driven BAJA ATVs to lay emphasis on “Electrical
Mobility. Fossil fuels take millions of years of solar energy and rare geographical
events to get produced and are harmful in nature. Hence, there is a need to
move towards sustainable as well as clean technology which can help us achieve
energy independence and stabilize human -induced climatic change. Also, these
fuels are perishable resources of energy, which can cause energy scarcity in
future, we need to come up with alternate resources of energy for the
development of mobility and have a sustainable growth. Therefore, we believe
that electric mobility is the future which will play a significant role in the
growth of the nation.
Through
this event we intent young minds of our nation get an opportunity to experiment
and explore the electric science of mobility which is to be the future.

: SAEINDIA, a professional Society of Automotive Engineers, today
flagged off the 11th edition of the much-awaited BAJA series. The
finale of the event, with Mahindra as a title sponsor and over 35 other
industry sponsors, will be held at the NATRIP
facility at Pithampur near Indore, from 24th to 28th
January 2018. About 388 entries were
received for BAJA SAEINDIA 2018, out of which 180 teams were shortlisted for
conventional BAJA and 41 teams were shortlisted for eBAJA in the virtual round.
It will be followed by the HR meet on January 29th & 30th
2018.
Mahindra BAJA SAEINDIA 2018 has received an overwhelming response
with representation from all zones- Western,
Northern, Eastern and Southern zones
in India.
The four-day event will
include Technical Inspection, Static Evaluation such as Design, Cost &
Sales Presentation and Dynamic Events such as Acceleration, Sled Pull,
Suspension & Traction and Maneuverability. The endurance round of 2 hours
for eBAJA and 4 hours for mBAJA will be held at the NATRAX facility at
Pithampur near Indore under the aegis of NATRIP, from 24th to 28th
January 2018.
A remarkable feature, unique to BAJA
SAEINDIA, is the adoption of a new theme every year. This year the theme for
BAJA 2018 is ‘Ground to Glory’ which celebrates the passion, hard work and
perseverance of the budding engineers who start their journey from scratch and
traverse throughout the year to turn their dreams into reality. The theme
rejoices the fervour of the students to take up challenges to attain glory. It
stands for the journey of the students and the boundaries they are ready to
challenge, making BAJA the Ground for Glory for all the people associated with
the event.

in engineering education. The event has grown multifold since its inception in

that the students who perform well in such national level events get an
opportunity to participate in corresponding international competitions.
However, funding required for registration, shipping of vehicle and students’
travel is huge and a lot of efforts go in obtaining sponsorship. It gives me
immense pleasure in announcing that the teams who perform well in BAJA SAEINDIA
and receive top honours will be provided funding of Rupees 1 lakh/student for a
team of up to 10 students for their participation in International event.
Winning teams are required to apply in the prescribed format available on AICTE
website. This scheme is designed with an aim to bring laurels to the country.
These awards will help in raising the bar of the Indian event too. I wish SAEINDIA

For the BAJA 2018 finale, entries from
engineering colleges from across the country were screened at the Virtual Round
held at Chitkara University, Chandigarh in July of 2017, where they presented
their Designs for the BAJA Buggy vehicle that they wished to design for the
final event. The qualifying teams
were selected through a thorough analysis and comparison of their written test,
CAD Designs, the CAE analysis and the designs of Roll Cage, Suspension,
Steering and Brakes. The entries presented at
the virtual BAJA were virtual mock-ups that would be created with exact
specifications by the participants. The teams in the final round will showcase
their skill, understanding and passion for automobiles while having
manufactured their own buggy race car.
BAJA SAEINDIA also initiated the eBAJA
series in 2015, to leverage the onset of Electric Mobility in India. The mBAJA
vehicles run on 10 HP B&S Gasoline Engine, common for all 180 teams,
whereas eBAJA vehicles will run on electricity, propelled by an electric motor
and powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack.
With the increasing popularity of BAJA
SAEINDIA, two BAJA’s will be held this year onwards. While one continues to be
in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, the other one will be held at IIT Ropar in Punjab
from 8th March to 11th March 2018. This move will help
cater to 60 more teams who will have the opportunity to participate.

Many lost their lives to keep sovereignty of nation intact,
many of them are still remembered but some of them even after their exceptional
service had been lost in anonymity. One brave soul who immortalized himself by
fighting three major wars for our nation is Subedar
Joginder Singh
. He served the British Indian Army pre-independence and
later in the Indian Army. He fought for the independence of the nation, he
fought to keep that independence intact and before achieving martyrdom he
fought for the honor of motherland India, in 1962 when China betrayed us and infiltrated
in our land with evil intentions.
He was commanding a platoon of soldiers, who were instructed
to take positions in the adversities of NEFA without any proper reinforcements.
Soon after taking their positions, they faced lethal and unanticipated attacks
by thousands of Chinese soldiers in three waves, who astonishingly attacked
from Aksai Chin in Ladakh to Indo-Myanmar border in NEFA. It was due to the
sheer mental strength that despite the exhausting ammunition and being hit by
bullet on thigh, Subedar Joginder Singh
kept motivating his soldiers against all odds, along with that he single
handedly killed dozens of Chinese soldiers with Bayonets. For such exemplary
and unprecedented display of valor, Indian Government honored him with the
country’s highest wartime gallantry award – Param Vir Chakra posthumously.
A biographical feature film is shot in the picturesque but
vulnerable locations of Kargil & Dras, Rajasthan and Assam. Major part of
film has been shot at a height of 14000 feet; the terrain is so insurmountable
that it took the cast and crew hours of car drive and strenuous vertical trek
to reach actual shoot location.
The
protagonist of the movie, Gippy Grewal will be essaying the role of the martyr.

Much- anticipated war film, the first
ever on a Param Vir Chakra recipient; titled on the name of the martyr ‘Subedar
Joginder Singh’ has once again bombarded the internet with its next asset which
was released yesterday by the makers ‘Seven Colors Motion Picture’.
The inspiration to make this film on
the brave Indian soldier who served the British Indian Army, and later the
Indian Army, is drawn from the true to life events and incidents of his life
that led him to become what he became and is now remembered in a reverential
tone.
We all seem to have forgotten the
chapter from the annals of our history, the Sino-Indian War, 1962, wherein, a
handful of Sikh soldiers stood strong against the waves of thousands of Chinese
army men, trying to intrude in our country. The film’s teaser showcases a
series of events, which must have happened then. The makers have, to utmost
precision, maintained the authenticity of the subject. It goes without saying
that the teaser is strong, powerful, precise, and intricately planned. It,

Saavn’s Artist Originals launch Punjabi-pop song ‘VIBE’ by the PropheC

2018
: Saavn, India’s leading audio streaming service today announced
the release of Vibe by Canadian Artist, The PropheC, as part of its
Artists Originals (AO) initiative. Vibe is a smooth Punjabi-pop track
that has gone live on Saavn and all global platforms today.
Vibe follows the success of Saavn’s previous AO release, Bom Diggy.
Having launched in September of 2017, the track garnered over 28 million
streams on Saavn, as well as 40 million views across YouTube and other
streaming platforms.
The PropheC has collaborated with
Saavn’s Artist Originals for this catchy track and accompanying music video
that showcases his trademark sound in a totally new light. The video for Vibe

An intense
and stormy romance between two headstrong people on the opposite ends of the
spectrum – Spotlight 2 explores the exasperating reality of being a music
celebrity. The series is being directed by Siddhant Sachdeva and will feature
popular television actor Karan V Grover along with two dazzling former Miss
India’s , Aditi Arya and Ruhi Singh. Focusing on compelling content offered in
a contemporary setting, the series will feature more than 7 originally composed

Based on the
